Khadijah Sharif-Drinkard (MS '89)

Khadijah Sharif-Drinkard, MS '89 was honored to receive the Muslim Bar Association of New York's Corporate Counsel of the Year Award at the New York Hilton Hotel on May 10th. She was joined by a wonderful group of family, friends, and colleagues from Viacom. Congratulations Khadijah!


Tiffany Tsang (MS '98)

Congratulations to Tiffany Tsang, MS '98, who has been nominated for an inaugural "Women in Pensions Award 2018", which aims to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women in a sector where they are currently under-represented (in the UK). Awards are announced on June 26, 2018 in London.


Emma Templeton (MS '09)

Emma Templeton, MS ’09 published a paper that was recently covered in the Vox article What smartphone photography is doing to our memories by Brian Resnick. The article discusses technology’s effects on our memory and ultimately our experience of the world around us. Emma’s research as a graduate student at Dartmouth dives deeper into assessing smartphones’ impact on our cognitive abilities. Plus, she recently received an award for being an outstanding graduate student teacher, nominated by her undergraduate students!


Benjamin Sorkin (MS '16)

Congratulations to Ben Sorkin, MS '16! Ben was selected as one of sixteen Mount Vernon Leadership Fellows from across the country for the 2018 summer. He will be spending six weeks living and learning from accomplished mentors, leaders in government and public service, and the other fellows at the Mount Vernon estate in Washington, DC, aka George Washington’s house.

Khadijah Sharif-Drinkard was featured in Columbia's College Today Alumni Newsletter. Khadijah is the VP, associate general counsel for Viacom Media Networks and BET Networks. 


Amanda Gorman (MS '16)

Amanda Gorman, MS '16, was featured on The Today Show for Black History Month as the first African American Youth Poet Laureate.  Amanda is a sophomore at Harvard studying literature and politics.


Clarence Kong (MS '14)

Clarence Kong, MS '14, was re-elected as Vice Commander of the Division 12 Flotilla 8 of the First Southern District Region of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.  Clarence is a first year medical student at CUNY School of Medicine, Deputy Chief for the City College Emergency Medical Services and is a certified First Aid and CPR Instructor by the American Heart Association. 


David Tang-Quan (MS '11)

David Tang-Quan, MS '11, is the new Chief of Staff at EarthEnable, a social enterprise in Rwanda which focuses on providing affordable flooring that can be washed, cleaned, and used to create a healthy home environment for the over 1 billion people who currently have dirt floors in their homes. David received his degree in economics from Harvard College. 


Chase Lin (MS '15)

Following his internship in San Francisco this summer, Chase Lin, MS '15, was featured in Wells Fargo Stories speaking on the 2018 Beyond College Webinar Series.  Chase is a junior at NYU studying business. 


Amanda Gorman (MS '16)

A poet among us! Congratulations to Amanda Gorman, MS '16, who has been named the first National youth poet laureate! This award honors a teen poet who demonstrates not only extraordinary literary talent but also a proven record of community engagement and youth leadership. Amanda is a rising sophomore at Harvard studying literature and politics.
