Isiah Iniguez

Biography

Isiah Iniguez was a 2018 Teach for America corps member and taught special education in the Los Angeles Unified School District. During his time at LAUSD, he served on the School Site Council (SSC) and was co-chair of his site’s UTLA chapter. After his TFA commitment, he returned to his hometown’s school district, where he taught for two more years. During his last year of teaching, he participated in Teach for America’s One Day Fellowship and was also a California Teaching Policy Fellow at Teach Plus. This past year, Isiah has been a policy consultant for an LAUSD board member. He transitioned out the classroom and joined WestEd as an Improvement Associate. He graduated from Brown University in 2018 with his BA (Public Policy; Education Studies) and from Loyola Marymount University in 2021 with his MA in Urban Education: Policy & Administration. He is pursuing his Doctoral Studies in Education at LMU.

News and Highlights

Isiah Iniguez (MS '13)

Teaching in Colombia: Isiah, MS '13, was just selected as a Fulbright Scholar and will be departing to Colombia in January 2021 to teach English at a university, while also completing his Master's in Urban Education: Policy & Administration at Loyola Marymount University's School of Education. A huge congrats to Isiah, who will be one of only 47 Fulbright Scholars teaching in Colombia this coming year!

Washington bound. Congratulations to Isiah Iniguez, MS '13, who is one of 22 finalists chosen to be part of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s (CHCI) 2016 Spring Congressional Internship Program (CIP). Isiah will be spending the Spring semester working at the congressional office, participating in group community service projects, and attending leadership sessions.
