Judith Vasquez

Biography

Judy Vasquez (she/her/hers) is Senior Advisor to Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH). In her role, she collaborates with DPH’s leadership, programs, and community partners to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic and lead initiatives that advance the conditions that support optimal health and well-being for LA County’s 10 million residents. Judy previously advised LA County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, former U.S. Secretary of Labor in the Obama Administration, on policy areas including Immigration, Homelessness & Housing, Public Safety, and Legislative Affairs. Prior to her work in local government, Judy served as Deputy Correspondence Director for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, where she was charged with communicating the Senator's views and direction on federal policy to California's constituents, advocacy organizations, and elected officials. Judy spends her free time with her family in LA, visiting family in Ireland, and exploring other parts of the globe.
