Shahla is Project Manager, Education and Economic Improvement, at Google. Following a college internship at the United Nations and work with a migration-focused research firm, she worked for the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in Afghanistan on conservation and intangible heritage projects. Shahla also worked as an independent consultant for the World Bank, USAID, UNDP, Oxfam, CARE, and the Asia Foundation. In addition, she was a General Manager for TImeLooper and a Founding Board Member of Burlap and Barrel. She received her master's in sociology and anthropology from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and she earned her bachelors degree in political science from Yale University.
