Karen Bailey

Environmental Science

Biography

Karen is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Colorado at Boulder working on climate resilience, conservation, and livelihoods in east and southern Africa. Beginning in fall 2020, she will transition to Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies at CU Boulder. Karen graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology in 2008. She completed her MS and PhD at the University of Florida in 2013 and 2018. She has lived and worked on 5 continents and has commitment to just and inclusive climate science and natural resource management.

Congratulations are in order for Karen Bailey, MS ‘04, who has accepted a position with Teach for America after she graduates. When she returns from teaching English in Thailand next year she will begin an assignment teaching middle school science in Houston, Texas.
