Vanessa Felix is a rising senior at Stanford. She was the valedictorian at Animo Inglewood Charter High School and an AP Scholar with Distinction. She served as treasurer and later president of the student council and served as a student ambassador for important visitors and donors, captained the robotics team, and tutored classmates in chemistry, geometry, and AP Calculus. Vanessa fostered her creativity with robotics by designing, building, wiring, and coding robots made from parts found in the school's basement for a Greendot competition of robo-pong. She also held other important roles like being the ambassador for the Los Angeles mayor, Eric Garcetti, at a college day signing event at the Dodger Stadium. Vanessa founded the Womxn Empowerment Club, where Animo’s young women discuss gender issues in their own lives and society at large and donate feminine care goods to a shelter nearby.
