Biography

A graduate of UC Irvine School of Medicine, Shirin is a resident in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics (Med-Peds) at UCLA and hopes to combine her clinical practice with a career in healthcare informatics to help shape how technology is used in healthcare settings. Prior to pursuing her medical degree, Shirin was a software engineer at a health insurance startup called SimplyInsured in San Francisco and at Microsoft. Shirin graduated in 2017 from Stanford University with a degree in computer science. At Stanford, Shirin was a computer science teaching assistant and enjoyed solving challenging problems in the healthcare technology space, such as working on a surgical simulator.
