Biography

Currently, Marcela is Vice President of Global Strategies at First Book, where she leads engagement with the largest network of educators serving children in need in the United States. Marcela previously served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. She is a social impact leader with 20+ years of experience in the areas of economic mobility and education opportunity. Marcela earned an M.S. in international economic development from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown in 2004 and an A.B. in sociology from Harvard in 2000.
