Biography

Katy Shin graduated from Stanford University with a B.S.H. in Biology (Neurosciences), and is on a journey toward becoming a child and adolescent psychiatrist and clinical researcher. On campus, she served as a peer counselor and teaching team coordinator for The Bridge (Stanford's peer counseling center). She also conducted research at the Stanford Neurodevelopment, Affect, and Psychopathology (SNAP) Lab, exploring biological mechanisms underlying links between exposure to pollution and mental health outcomes in adolescents. Katy also volunteered at Stanford's Arbor Free Clinic as a patient health navigator and sang with Stanford's all-femme acappella group, Counterpoint. In her free time, she enjoys singing, spending time with her hamster (Mandu), and hiking.
