Biography
Katy Shin is a fourth-year student at Stanford University, working towards a B.S.H. in Biology (Neurosciences), on a journey toward becoming a child and adolescent psychiatrist and clinical researcher. On campus, she serves as a peer counselor and teaching team coordinator for The Bridge (Stanford's peer counseling center). She also conducts research at the Stanford Neurodevelopment, Affect, and Psychopathology (SNAP) Lab, exploring biological mechanisms underlying links between exposure to pollution and mental health outcomes in adolescents. Katy also volunteers at Stanford's Arbor Free Clinic as a patient health navigator and sang with Stanford's all-femme acappella group, Counterpoint. In her free time, she enjoys singing, spending time with her hamster (Mandu), and hiking.
