Juliana Avalos

Biography

Juliana Avalos studies computer science at UCSD. Prior to this, she was a National Hispanic Scholar and an AP Scholar with Distinction. A future engineer, Juliana taught coding for Granada Hills Charter High School’s Girls Who Code Club, studied coding at USC, and designed a rollercoaster with the Society of Women Engineers. In her school’s nascent AP Capstone program, Juliana researched the value of music therapy for students with autism and explored the use of art to counter police brutality.
