Jose Aceves Salvador

Biography

Jose Aceves Salvador is a 5th-year PhD candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) program at Harvard Medical School. His doctoral research focuses on developing a novel high-throughput platform for multimodal CRISPR screens, with broader interests in cell biology and RNA biology.

Jose earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT, he mentored high school students in the Boston area through the Leadership Training Institute and actively sought interdisciplinary research experiences to broaden his scientific skill set. His undergraduate research spanned diverse areas, including carbon nanotube-based sensors, microfluidic gut models, neuronal kinetic modeling, and method development for antibiotic drug studies.

Beyond the lab, Jose is deeply committed to community building and mentorship. He previously served as President of the Graduate Latinx Student Association and currently holds the role of Lead Director of Networking for the Harvard Biotech Club, where he works to foster connections between trainees, academia, and industry.
