Chinweze Ahaghotu

Biography

Chinweze Ahaghotu has over two decades of biopharmaceutical experience in global leadership roles spanning commercialization, business development, and strategic planning.

Chinweze is currently the Head of Portfolio Management at Galderma and leads a team responsible for prioritizing investment decisions in the research and development (R&D) innovation pipeline and ensuring that they drive growth, balance risk, and align with corporate strategy. He also manages the tools and processes to deliver integrated performance reporting for the R&D portfolio, and oversees the R&D portfolio budget in partnership with finance.

Prior to joining Galderma, Chinweze spent 14 years at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and held positions of increasing responsibility in R&D, commercialization, and corporate strategy. While at BMS, he led business operations and portfolio strategic planning in R&D and commercialization, and supported numerous business development transactions including the acquisitions of Medarex and Celgene. As the Head of R&D Operations at BMS, Chinweze served as a member of the R&D Leadership Team and managed the Science and Technology committee of the Board of Directors. He began his career as a discovery scientist at Merck investigating novel diabetes therapeutics; and has also worked in life sciences venture capital.

Chinweze earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from Harvard College, and MBA from the Columbia Business School. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Bucks county, PA.
