Biography
Brandon Quach is a junior at Yale University pursuing a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, along with a certificate in Data Science. He currently conducts research in the Sorrells Lab, where he aims to better understand the neurobiology underlying mosquitoes’ attraction to humans. His current project focuses on developing deep learning models to map DNA sequence motifs to transcriptional output, with the goal of leveraging these insights to target cell-specific neuronal activity in mosquitoes. Brandon plans to pursue a Ph.D. in synthetic or computational biology, and is also considering a gap year to earn an M.P.H. if he continues his research in vector biology.
