Ayan Rahman

Urban Planning

Biography

Ayan Rahman is a recent graduate of Brown University, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies with honors. While at Brown, Ayan worked with the Rhode Island Food Policy Council to serve municipalities and Health Equity Zones facing food apartheid. He has also worked at WXY Studio, a community-development oriented urban planning and design firm in New York, as a Planning Intern. He was the co-president of the Brown Outing Club, and worked with the Transfer & Resumed Undergraduate Education (TRUE) student organization and the Undocumented, First-Generation College, and Low Income (U-FLI) Student Center as a campus employee. Beyond Brown, Ayan interned as a program producer and assistant at the Center for Brooklyn History's Arts and Culture department, worked within the Providence Community Libraries network as a youth bilingual storytelling instructor, and most recently finished conducting research with the International Center for Climate Change and Development in Dhaka, Bangladesh for his senior thesis on climate migration and urban informality. After graduation, Ayan will spend a year as an English Language Teaching Assistant in the Madrid Public School System in Spain.
