Biography

Andrea Yang, a graduate of Diamond Bar High School, is a Coolidge Senator Scholar, BuildGirls Scholar, and two-time President’s Volunteer Service Gold Awardee. She founded Starfly, an iOS app empowering girls in STEM, winning the Congressional App Challenge and named a RISE For the World Schmidt Futures Global Finalist. Through the Athena Initiative, Andrea raised $15,000+ to organize Los Angeles’ first girls-only high school hackathon and co-organized an inaugural international summit at SpaceX HQ. Andrea will study Computational Biology at MIT.
