Biography

Alexander Billups is a graduate of Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. He is a QuestBridge National Match Finalist, QuestBridge College Prep Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, and recipient of the United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship. Alex represented his class in student government and co-captained Gonzaga’s varsity rugby team, which won the National High School Rugby Championship. He has tested new drugs in a neurological disorders lab at the NIH, prepared meals for elderly and homeless residents in his community, and created a lunch program for low-income students at Gonzaga. Alex graduated from Penn State with a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. During his time at Penn State, he was a Millennium Scholar and conducted various research internships at Carnegie Mellon, University of Southern California and IBM. He's planning to pursue a career in computer science research and eventually kickstart his own business. Alex was awarded the GEM Fellowship sponsored by IBM and currently pursuing a masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in AI at the University of Southern California.
