Shu (Sue) Phua is beginning her second year at the University of Virginia where she will be pursuing a major in biology with a minor in psychology. At UVA, she is an adviser for the Peer Advising Family Network, an adviser for the Peer U-Link organization, a student council representative for Hope On Grounds, and a member of the University Democrats. During the summer of 2018, she traveled around China for over a month with her family. For the remainder of her summer, she worked with children in her free time.
Shu graduated from Wilson W. Senior High School as an AP Scholar, National Merit Commended Scholar, and member of the National Honor Society. She served as the treasurer for the Literacy Club, helping raise funds and tutoring in DC schools. She was secretary for the National Honor Society and head coxswain of the school’s rowing team. She also organized events and coordinated tutoring with students at Wilson.
