Biography

Katy Shin, valedictorian at Golden Valley High School, is a Leadership for a Diverse America Cohort 17 Scholar, Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, and Burger King Scholar. She received the Distinguished Lieutenant Governor Award for Key Club serving 12 clubs in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley. She co-founded BrightTEEN, a free tutoring organization providing peer academic support. She was a California Advisory Board member for Bring Change 2 Mind and psychology researcher at Teachers College, Columbia University. She will study psychology at Stanford.
