Happenings: Ruben graduated from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in May 2007 with a Master's degree in International Relations, focusing on Conflict Management. In September 2007, he entered the United States Foreign Service and worked as a Vice Consul and Deputy Spokesman at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv from June 2008 until June 2010. Since August 2010, Ruben has been living and working at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, where he is a Political Officer. Ruben is married to Astghik Martirosyan and they have one daughter, Sofia.

  • Global perspective. State Department Officer, Ruben Harutunian, MS ‘01, will be returning to the states for his next assignment; serving as an assistant to U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

  • In September Ruben Harutunian, MS ‘01 entered the United States Foreign Service and is now training in Arlington, Virginia. This June he will begin his first diplomatic assignment at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.
