Won S. Shin is an assistant solicitor general in the New York State Office of the Attorney General, where he briefs and argues appellate matters on behalf of the State and its agencies in state and federal courts. From 2006 to 2012, Won was a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where his practice focused on regulatory and white-collar criminal matters and securities and other complex civil litigation. Before entering private practice, Won served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Won received his A.B., magna cum laude, in biochemical sciences from Harvard College in 2000, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2005. Prior to law school, Won worked as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. Won and his wife, Grace Lee, live in downtown Manhattan.
